What is Yoga:
Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice of body movements and postures that can and usually are accompanied by breath control, meditation, and stretching. Yoga is more than just poses and movement, it is a unity of mind, body, and breath (prana) into one practice. Used correctly and regularly, yoga can be truly transformative and medicinal.
Origin:
It is believed that yoga was developed in ancient India between 3300 BCE and 500 BCE. It was practiced in one form or another throughout history since those days. The practice of yoga landed in the US in the 1920s but didn’t become widely known until the 1950s, where it was mostly practiced on the West Coast.
