What is Meditation:
A practice of mindfulness, with or without thought. It is often performed while sitting in a lotus position, lying down, walking, or simply standing in place. There are several forms of meditation and the practice can be tailored to each individual so the desired results can be achieved.
Origin:
The earliest written record of meditation came from the Hindu traditions Vedantism in 1500 BCE. Other forms were developed in Buddist China and Taoist China. There has been some speculation that evidence of meditation was found in drawings dating back to 5000 BCE. Since 1500 BCE the practice of meditation has been recorded and used in almost every religion and time period throughout the world.
