What is Acupuncture:
A complimentary medical practice that uses touch (Acupressure) or metal pins (Acupuncture) to stimulate specific points on the body. These points are associated with qi (vital energy) and meridian lines that were thought to exist in the body. It is now known that some of these meridians and pressure sites do align with specific neural pathways and, when stimulated, can and do alleviate pain and symptoms, as well as cure and increase the rate of healing in the body.
Origin:
There are several historical writings and tools that have been found throughout ancient history that indicate the use of acupuncture, meridians and similar tools used in the practice. The first unmistakably described practice of acupuncture was inked in The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine that dates back to 100 BCE and originated in China.

Chronic pain, allergic rhinitis (including hay fever), biliary colic, depression, dysentery, acute bacillary, dysmenorrhoea, epigastralgia, acute and chronic gastritis, and gastrospasms, facial pain, headaches, hypertension, essential hypotension, induction of labor, leukopenia, malposition of fetus, morning sickness, nausea and vomiting, pain in dentistry (including dental pain and TMJ), periarthritis of shoulder, postoperative pain, renal colic, rheumatoid arthritis, sciatica, sprain, stroke, and tennis elbow.
